Material Overview of the main pillar; I'm using both a color curve for the "main" colors of the pillar, then combining with adding WorldPosition to it for the "glow" near the pillar's base.

Final Version of the Previous Iteration

Divine Smite

This project was the first I worked on as part of my internship at Glaucaus Games; Thank you so much to https://www.artstation.com/vastir for being my Supervisor for the Project.

I was tasked with making a portfolio piece for the company's website, and I wanted to work with elements I found familiar with (Fire, and Stylized VFX), while really pushing the detail & polish. I found https://www.artstation.com/rineartt 2D VFX design very compelling, as it had a very cool symbol and felt very much like a "game" ability with the clear visual language. I also really wanted to work with some of the technical elements of Riot Games' https://www.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/dev/dev-a-storm-is-brewing/ dev-blog-post, which was really annoying but was super worth it in the end when it finally came together; I love the way the Rune Dissolves!

Overall the project took about a month or so to complete, with me getting feedback twice per week. I'm extremely happy how the effect looks in the end, and I hope to be able to output similar things in the future, just at a faster pace!
